Tom Lagatutta
1981-1983
Tom Lagatutta was a dominant force in the trenches for Randolph football, earning Star-Ledger All-State honors in 1983 as a two-way standout at offensive and defensive tackle. Known for his toughness and tenacity, he recorded 60 solo tackles his senior year while consistently drawing the assignment of blocking or battling the opponent’s top lineman.
Lagatutta helped lead the Rams to a 10–1 record and their first-ever State Sectional Championship in 1983, a season highlighted by the legendary “Linden Game.” That squad finished ranked 8th in New Jersey and capped off a three-year team run with a 26–5 record (.834). A team captain in 1983, Lagatutta anchored one of the most important seasons in program history.
