Chauncey (Ted) Hart

1961-1992

Chauncey (Ted) Hart, a pivotal figure in Randolph sports, was a dedicated contributor from 1961 to 1992. As a member of the Randolph Recreation Committee for over three decades, he played foundational roles, serving as the first Football Chairman in 1961 and the first Track Chairman in 1969. Ted was a founding father of the Lakeland Junior Track & Field League in 1969 and co-founded the Randolph Booster Sports Scholarship Foundation (RBSSF). His significant contributions to youth sports were recognized with his induction into the Morris County Midget Football Hall of Fame in 1991, where he also served as past president. Ted coached the Midget Football Program from 1968 to 1978, pioneering the integration of the same offense and defense as the high school program. His mentorship helped develop over 100 youth coaches, instilling in them the philosophy and techniques of the program. Ted Hart's enduring legacy in Randolph sports has earned him a well-deserved place in the Randolph Athletic Hall of Fame.
