Dave Poppy
1985-2016
Dave Poppy devoted more than 30 years to Randolph athletics, making significant contributions across football, softball, basketball, and winter track. As an assistant football coach for 28 seasons, he helped guide the Rams to 204 victories, 10 conference championships, and six state sectional titles. During his tenure, Randolph achieved a state-record 59-game undefeated streak and finished the 1990 season ranked No. 1 in New Jersey.
Poppy also served as head softball coach from 1987-2008, compiling 275 victories over 22 seasons, and was the head winter track coach for six years. As an assistant basketball coach from 1991-2016, he helped develop countless student-athletes while contributing to Morris County JV Championship teams in 2003 and 2010, including an undefeated 19-0 season. His versatility, dedication, and long-standing commitment to Randolph athletics left a lasting impact on generations of Rams athletes.
