Tatiana (Tanya Smolin) McIntosh

1981-1985

Tatiana (Tanya Smolin) McIntosh, an extraordinary track and field athlete from 1981 to 1985, earned her place in the Randolph Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015 for her remarkable achievements. In 1982, she set a national freshman record in the high jump and went on to set eight school records, seven of which still stood as of 2015. Tanya was an All-State performer in both winter and spring track for four consecutive years and held the state record in the high jump for both seasons. Her dominance in the high jump was further highlighted by winning the Meet of Champions high jump six times and becoming the first and only six-foot high jumper in New Jersey history. With 19 county championships and an impressive 740 varsity points, she scored an average of 20 points in every dual meet. Tanya led her team to an undefeated dual meet record of 37-0, achieving eight conference, five county, and two sectional championships. Her excellence was also recognized at the Penn Relays, where she won the high jump three consecutive years, was named MVP, and was inducted into the Penn Relays Wall of Fame. Tanya McIntosh's exceptional contributions to Randolph track and field have solidified her legacy as one of the school's greatest athletes.
