Deirdre Ryan
1985-1989
Deirdre Ryan, a standout swimmer from 1985 to 1989, was inducted into the Randolph Athletic Hall of Fame in 2015 for her exceptional achievements in the pool. An All-State performer for three consecutive years, Deirdre dominated the 200-yard freestyle, becoming a three-time champion, and was a three-time runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle. Her prowess was highlighted by setting a state record in the 200-yard freestyle that stood for an impressive 25 years. In 1987, she set national records in the 200-yard and 400-yard freestyle. Deirdre's excellence extended to the county level, where she was a six-time Morris County Champion. Her talent earned her a spot in the 1988 Olympic Trials. Throughout her high school career, she set five Randolph school records, all of which still stand today. Deirdre Ryan's remarkable contributions to Randolph swimming have solidified her legacy as one of the school's most outstanding athletes.
