Mike Wenzel

1989-1992

A steady force on the blue line, Mike Wenzel anchored Randolph’s defense throughout his four-year varsity career. A Star-Ledger All-State selection in 1992, he combined strong defensive play with offensive skill, recording 36 points on 8 goals and 24 assists as a senior.

Over his career, Wenzel totaled 105 points (29 goals, 76 assists), an exceptional mark for a defenseman. Known for his poise and consistency, he delivered his best hockey during the 1992 Mennen Cup Playoffs, helping Randolph capture its first major championship.

That season, the team finished 15-4-4, ranked 6th in New Jersey and 2nd among public schools, marking a breakthrough moment for Randolph hockey.
