John J. Bauer, inducted into the Randolph Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014, is remembered as a master teacher, coach, and mentor. Serving as Randolph’s Head Football Coach and Athletic Director from 1966 to 1990, Bauer played a crucial role in building the school’s athletic programs into a state powerhouse. His football teams set remarkable records, achieving 191 wins, 7 State Championships, 16 Conference titles, and an incredible 25 consecutive winning seasons. Notably, his team was ranked #1 in New Jersey in 1990, and he was named Coach of the Year. Under his leadership, "The Streak" of 54 consecutive wins without a tie and 59 without a loss became legendary in state history.
