Dr. Matthew Wainer

1963–1981

Dr. Mathew Wainer, inducted into the Randolph Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019, served as the first Superintendent of the Randolph School System from 1963 to 1981, laying a strong foundation for the district's future. A passionate advocate for the athletic program, he introduced the Randolph Lights & Night Athletic Program, enhancing the community's engagement with sports. Dr. Wainer also fervently supported the award-winning marching band, recognizing the importance of a comprehensive extracurricular program. Under his leadership, the school system saw significant expansion, including the construction of the high school football/track/field house in 1968, Shongum School in 1969, Fernbrook School in 1971, and a new high school in 1975. His vision and dedication were further evidenced by his recruitment of all the administrators and coaches who are now Hall of Fame members, solidifying his lasting impact on Randolph's educational and athletic excellence.
