Matt Ardizzone

1992-1994

Matt Ardizzone was one of the most dynamic baseball players in Randolph history. A two-time First Team All-State selection and three-year varsity catcher, Ardizzone hit .469 over his career while setting numerous school records, including marks for hits, runs, steals, walks, triples, single-season runs, and single-season steals.

A switch hitter with rare power and speed, Ardizzone helped lead Randolph to its first Group 4 State Sectional title in 1993 and first Morris County Championship in 1994. The 1994 team finished 24-4 and ranked 6th in New Jersey. He later was drafted by the San Diego Padres and played professionally in their farm system, while also contributing to Randolph’s 1993 State Group Championship wrestling team.
